Buying a home is one of the biggest investments and financial decisions you can make. While it is a major commitment and responsibility, it is also a very exciting time in your life. I’m proud that I will get to play a part in it and am excited about soon having the privilege of handing you the keys to your new home!
With that said, it’s important to keep in mind that home buying is a complicated process. I will be working hard to make sure that everything is as rewarding as possible, guiding you at every step and making sure that your needs and desires are met.
The first thing to do is to figure out how much home you can afford. This will depend on: your income, your credit score, monthly expenses (debt), down payment, and available interest rates.
Talking to a reputable lender will not only be able to give you an idea of best rates and terms available in the current market, but they can also explain multiple loan options that would be best for your unique situation. When we begin to look seriously at homes you’ll go back to the lender and shop around for the best loan available.
Next, you should make a ‘wish list’ of things your home must have. After you’ve made your whole list you can then prioritize into what the most important things are.
There are a number of different real estate websites that you can start your search on. Be wary of the numerous sites like Trulia and Zillow that are popular among consumers but they don’t always have the most accurate information. Both websites congruent to our company, century21.com and century21celli.com, stream information from the Multiple Listing Service (MLS) and always have the most accurate and up-to-date information.
This is typically where finding a real estate professional comes in handy.
